Jesse Ventura used to call them Rebloodlicans (he also called democrats democrips - like the two parties were in gang wars, but I liked the Rebloodlican tag).

I think the current strain of theocratic ruling class bastards is a lot like vampires- bloodsucking shapechangers who want only starry-eyed obedience from the very people they're draining dry. The Vampire Right.

The thing is, this breed of neo-fascist republican is totally different. The old republican party was nothing like these guys- these guys are like some demented version of the old tax-and-spend label they give US-- they slash-and-spend. Do you know that Bush has NEVER vetoed anything? It's like he doesn't give a shit how much money the government spends, but he also doesn't care about how little the government takes in (hence the tax cuts).

And they say and do anything to win - think about the way he panders to Mexico, which is fine as far as I'm concerned, except I don't think he really cares one bit about real Mexicans and Mexican Americans. But jeez, there's guys in his party who used to say we need to build a big wall between us and Mexico, but now it's all about saying one thing and doing another. It's just bizarre.

Almost everything they accuse us of doing/wanting, they're actually doing. "You tax and spend liberals" but we haven't done any spending. All the spending has been conservative shit-- bombs, corporate welfare, anti-human rights actions by the justice department, and on and on. You're elitist, you don't allow people to have opposite views (seriously, the party line right now is that people in the democratic party aren't allowed to have different opinions from the party- which is just flat fucking untrue, but I talk to a bunch of different republicans and they seriously think we're engaged in group think) But if you think abortions might be okay, there's public statements that you don't belong in the GOP or if maybe gays aren't so bad, you aren't a mainstream republican. It's just so ... internally inconsistent. They're the insanity party. Period.

It's the whole "liberal elitist" thing that fucks with my head, like "how can you say that?? I'm not elite anything!" I mean, I work a "white collar job" and I've been to grad school. But shit, I don't even own my own home! I can't/won't drive an SUV. I eat good food, but I don't look down on people who drive trucks, work on farms or in factories, or own guns. What am I the Elite of? you know what I mean? Grr.
