Sweet! I had a rare, but excellent lucid dream this morning. I drifted back to sleep after waking up early and reading the news.

I was lying on a hardwood floor- perhaps in my old apartment in south Mpls (1995-96). I looked across a beautifully sunlight room with broad, dynamic shadows on the walls and floor. There was a huge circular set of cracks in the high window, above a cluttered shelf. I looked the other direction and into a closet, where there were several items of clothing I recognized were not my own. I looked again and there was clearly a gray-brown striped dusty looking spider hanging in the center of its web in the closet. (I'm quite phobic of spiders and this filled me with anxiety) But then I said, "wait." and I did a state test and said, if I'm dreaming, when blink, the spider will change size." It did! It got bigger! "FUCK!" (anxiety and phobia again) Then I had a rare moment of insight and spun. It worked! If I can make it bigger, I can make it smaller too. The spider shrunk. Take that you little spider-fuck! So I decided to fix the cracks in the window. That was cool, because they started to knit back together, and as they did, the light grew warmer and brighter and I woke up.

Oh, also, I decided to make the reason I was on the floor a sexually-related one. Nothing like banishing a creepy spider and then remembering I'd just gotten laid to start your day!

i have a similiar reactions to spiders but i think in dreams sometimes they are can be wise in a very ancient way.
but then one of them i met that looked like badly rendered cgi (think early ray tracing with a round body and triangles for legs), that mother was fucking BAD.

anyway - cool dream! i like the part about the light growing warmer when you fixed the window.

Is it bad that my first question was, "So, who laid you?"
