Apropos of apparently nothing and with no clear explanation why, the Star Tribune has posted the last chapter of Moby Dick in its entirety on their website. Does this go in the paper? It's from their Opinion section. An oblique commentary on the elections? What's the impossible goal in this season? what's the white whale here?

A presidency, clean and unmarred by controversy? A fair election? Democracy itself? What could it possibly mean? Like the man said, when the going gets weird, the weird turn pro.
