on winning

Ok. Here's an email exchange I love to share:
Me to prof, email with my paper attached:
Today, Prof to me:
(the "next step" here is to possibly treat this as a master's thesis topic. or something along those lines)
How about that? I admitted myself that I didn't think it was complete (though certainly meeting the page requirements) and even though the professor agreed with me, I get the A.
While barely beginning to come down from this weird high, I check my messages and Eric McLuhan wrote me back! Dude! Eric McLuhan! (THE Eric McLuhan. I struggle and repeatedly fail to keep from saying "Eric Fucking McLuhan, Bitches"). Eric Son of Marshall Co-Author of Laws of Media McLuhan. Wrote me back. Also, he told me he was once a grad student in theology himself, and he pointed me to another McLuhan book I didn't know about--MM's work on religion. He was very encouraging. I hope he has time for some correspondence, cuz that's going to be flat fricking awesome.
I just keep winning.

Here it is. It's ... a departure, to say the least.
I really don't think it's done, even at ~14 pages. I think there's a next
step that could be very worth taking. What do you think?
Today, Prof to me:
I submitted your grade; this time it is only an A-, since the paper is not yet complete. Yet at the same time, it exceeds the expectations by far. I agree that it would be certainly worthwhile to take the next step.
