As far as I can tell, these poetically appalling yet bizarrely affecting lyrics are one hundred percent sincere. They are also part of the first track on Blood Mountain by Mastodon, one of the most metal things I've heard in years. Closeted and open metal fans are encouraged to check them out promptly.
