"when you punish a person for dreaming his dream don't expect him to thank or forgive you"
-from his song "the best ever death metal band out of denton"

I don't feel something like this has happened to me, particularly, but I think I feel a strong sense of identification/empathy for the people portrayed in the song. The song outros on him singing "hail satan!" over and over. If you listen to the song enough times, and pay attention, you might catch yourself singing along. I feel like I can understand how singing that would be so cathartic for the poor guys stuck in the song. I find I have to be careful, though. It probably wouldn't do to be heard singing along. Certainly not at school.

Gives me an idea for a good mix cd-- 'beautiful blasphemies' and would include Lou Barlow's "Mary" (about the possibility that it was the boy next door who got Mary pregnant and to keep them both from trouble, she claims it's the child of God: "mary mary under veil of stars/you changed the world you broke my heart/thank you mary, you saved me too/they'd stone us both if they ever knew") Any other nominations?

"God Isn't Real" by Robbie Fulks

So pretty!

I always sing along in (as close to) harmony (as I can manage).
