Tell me, am I the only person who does this? When I first saw the "I heart something" emoticons, I didn't know that's what they were (I used to pride myself on emoticon savvy, back in the day when there were like 10 of the damn things). So I just used to read them as "less than 3". In other words, I read friends' journals "I less than 3 music" or "I less than three ice cream". To keep my grammar mind at bay, I usually insert "have" in there "I have less than three freckles" or whatever. But I swear it took me weeks and weeks to realize it was a heart. Durr duh dur durrr.

It's kind of a Marvin's the man on the inside thing.

I really hated emoticons, but found less than three to be kind of itchily endearing. A lot of times I write out the words. Sometimes, in chat when emoticons would be appropriate, I will type out "semi-colon capital p" because I find it some how funnier.

I think I was in denial, though. I think I've got less than three freckles.

less than three is kinda endearing. though I might start writing it out the way you do the winking-tongue one. I less than three typing out emoticons. I less than three replying in a logged out state!

i always write I heart, even before i knew anything about the emoticon. I hate the emoticons. And not only because I always have to think, what the hell is that. I would LOVE it if you wrote that oyu less than three'd some things. In fact I might start doing it. If for no other reason than becuase that thing DOES NOT LOOK LIKE A HEART! I do however totally less than three ^5!
