burnunitSo I haven't been posting much lately, and I feel the usual autumnal desire to burn things up a bit, so I'm going to get back on track somehow. Not that anybody's reading, yo.
status...
OKAY, the roof is not yet halfway done. We have one section torn off, repaired, recovered with OSB and re-shingled. Another section is now torn off and new osb is in place. It's brutal. There are horrors unspeakable beneath the shingles. Two layers of shingles. Atop a layer of cedar shakes. Atop a layer of rotting ancient boards. mrs_lovett is doing most of it! In part due to my back, in part due to scheduling and her greater experience. She and her dad are meticulous and thorough. Leann regularly gets props from folks on the street (some mint biker chicks hollered "girl power!"). If you want to take part in this kind of good feeling, stop on by. If you have any time to de-shingle or if you're interested in learning the skill of roofing, please consider lending a hand. You know, friendly like. The house is slowly coming together, but it's a good ways yet. Please, friends, if you think you might have time and an inclination to get high above my neighborhood, email me or comment. There's still a long way to go!
So also, I had the most wonderful retreat out at Shalom Hill Farm last weekend. But it was also exhausting. Uff da, it's hard to maintain my frenetic style on my own withoutmrs_lovett present to ground me and also talk things over with in private. And there were all these really smart seminarians who I had to keep my conversational level at a certain peak, while never using the F word even once. The retreat was awesome but that was really fucking hard.
My last request is that you come to our f'ing show! THAC0 returns, showing at Salem Black Box THIS WEEKEND. I am SO proud of this work, I really hope you can come. Call and make some reservations. If you have a gaming group you play with a lot, this is the show to bring the whole gang. Seriously, it'll be awesome. Friday, Saturday, Sunday nights at 7:00 pm. You simply must come!
