okay I believe it's cold

I think people have been generally overreacting to the temperature. It's Minnesota! We've been outrageously warm for months! Well, yesterday the part of the river that flows on the Nordeast side of Nicollett Island was running freely--through the segment I can see from my office anyway. Today there is ice creeping upstream through my view. It's fascinating to watch. It makes the cold real to me. Yes, if I had a proper intervalometer, I'd have stuck my camera up and recorded it...well, next winter, if our disastrous attitudes toward global warming haven't wiped the memory of winter from our minds...

Anyway, now I begin to believe it's cold, because the river told me as it went by my window.

Plus I'm shivering.

I know! When I left for work this morning my tauntaun keeled over and died! I had to slice open it's belly to stay warm until the bus came for me. So embarrasing to smell like that all day....

The extreme cold made the snow all sparkly though...

I saw that there is a DOODLEBOPS Concert on April 6.

the cold is my favorite. wimpy complainers should reconnect to their scandinavian/baltic roots (and if you're minnesotan, theres one of them in there somehere in your family tree.) I love this weather.
