Leann and Amy's Army are home, they have completed the walk. We estimate she did 46 of the 60 miles. That's pretty awesome. Together, she and the rest of the walkers raised $6.3 million. That's pretty good. She's very tired. She's awesome. The walkers were awesome. We stood out with some music and a sign today and the people were awesome and beautiful.

"fun" with numbers
On a side note, I was thinking about national priorities and if they took the Twin Cities 3 Day fund raising total and considered it in light of the cost of the US War on Iraq, it's pretty sobering. The war is 48,948 times more expensive, and rising, at a rate of something like $100,000 a minute. That is to say, if they did the 3 Day almost 50,000 times, they could pay for the war against Iraq. The War is costing 48 Kilo3days and rising. When they say that thing about "the air force holding a bake sale to build a bomber" on bumper stickers, that'd be 109.5 3Days to raise the money for a single current B2 bomber (according to Air Force lifecycle cost estimates of 1.5 billion, that's 238 3Days for the life of a single bomber). If the air force or any other armed force had to raise money to fight their war(s), and they used a 3Day walk, do you think they'd be able to get enough walkers? Or maybe we could not build all those bombers, and instead fund breast cancer research a little better.
