I'm older than a lot of my classmates now. It's a function of being a PT, 2nd career type of student. It's a little weird sometimes to realize how young they are.
You know what I like? I like sitting in class, hearing what a student says about the parallelism in Martin Luther King's sermons and--when a professor described what they said as "analogies"--recalling something that a different professor said (a professor that many of these, uh, kids, have had in other classes) about parallelism in Hebrew biblical poetry and contributing, "no, you know, I like what they said because it's more than an analogy, I think they're on to something because it places King structurally in that OT tradition, that prophetic theme, the tradition that we receive from the prophetic and psalmist words."
One, because I know I'm right. Two, because I'm remembering something I learned in Psalms class nine frickin' years ago.
Take that, kidz! 1337 th3010gianz repreZent!
