Fringe makes you busy. This is a post from three days ago, saved as "private" for no explicable reason until now.

konfabulator is awesome. Since I don't have Tiger on my machine (yet) I found konfabulator. It's a sweet little deal that runs widgets, a little bit like Tiger's dashboard. But it's cross-platform. I love their saying "The grass is greener on both sides of the fence." And now it's FREE since they got bought by Yahoo.

Anyway, I've been using it. I found a magnetic poetry widget. I've always loved magnetic poetry because with the right word combos you can really set your mind loose from its sad and soggy moorings to sail toward distant shores. Etc. The fridge magnets metaphor is very nice because you can grab and move the stuff and it's sticky Anyhow, this widget lets you enter a URL and it will pull as many random words as you choose from that url. Then you can use the words as magnetic poetry. It was defaulted to abcnews.go.com and that was okay.

But this is masturbatory technological feedback we're talking about, here. So what I'm babbling about is ever since I figured out how to use it, lj's style system2 is totally kicking my ass. Now I can tag my posts, right, which allows me to organize them any way I desire, any ol way I see fit (this is a "duh" to most of you). Thanks to this, I've already begun to add a second organizational structure to The Cities of the Markets of the Dead, which means I can see it in more or less traditional "chapters" (tagged with city and a chapter number) and the original, more fluid and experimental schema of thematic impressions, multi-POV and circular pathways. Which means it can present itself almost as a coherent hypertext for the first time, which is how it has been happening in my head - commentaries on other material, stories of things dissolving into poetry, memories and characters dancing through, and the whole dang gestalt taking shape. now I just have to actually keep writing the sucker. yay! magnetic poetry! yay masturbatory magnetic poetry!

my spam is getting pretty sophisticated- punchy and streamlined like it's evolved into something perfectly suited to slip past the sensors and deliver me its link payload. It's scary, I read it and I feel like I'm listening in on a conversation I wasn't meant to hear. Check this one out, with the subject line "fast, quick, and very, very easy" (maybe all the commas help??) :

no getting any action here http://facedoes.com/islandfullofbeachbums/goingtoashowatthepier/forfun.htm would be like going to a rolling stones concert and not hearing i can't get no satisfaction... it's just not going to go down like that. the y are so easy here, you'll think you're Brad Pitt ;) C makes it easy to shoot yourself in the foot; C++ makes it harder, but when you do, it blows away your whole leg. There is no sincerer love than the love of food. Word in your shell-like New kid on the block Uncle Sam

who the fuck was that meant for? why am I the target market for that alla sudden?
