dangerdhotrod & Bleep were talking about how you can measure how close a nation is to turning fascist as their uniforms change. Like you can measure fascism in proportion to how a country's military and police uniforms get cooler looking. Think of those gleaming black accouterments and clean tailored grays of the Nazis, particularly the SS. Or the the pretty cool use of red accents in Soviet uniforms and the totally awesome Soviet navy uniforms. Well, have you looked at a US soldier's outfit lately? Or a riot cop?

I was thinking about that when I was doing some searches over at How Stuff Works and I found this scary article about the Future Force Warrior concept. Wow. That's for the infantry. Our military is building super suits using nanotechnology!

**Edit: and remember, I'm a fan of military science fiction, so I've always felt combat supersuits to be a good idea. I just don't like the civilian government's accompanying shamble into totalitarianism.**
