burnunit: (yeeargh!)
Tomorrow we open. God I want an audience. I think we'll have to find our audience over time, it's not just going to spring out of thin air. Course we don't have a lot of time. I have a huge chip on my shoulder (as usual) about trying to make this one the best performing (yes, money-wise too) productions for the company for which I'm directing it (in this case No Manifesto). It should come as no surprise that I'm very competitive.

Oh man, I wish I could express all the ways this show could work for people. gettin long winded ) It's good. I hope people come. If you're reading this, you should come.

OH, here's the sweet thing: the show is an hour. It's so brisk, it's totally sweet. Come in at 7:30, you'll be out of there in time to go get drunk or go get high or go catch a movie. Now, if you're a cynical fuck, that's an hour of your life you'll never get back... but I'm also a confident fuck, which cancels your cynicism; I like putting out my veins for audiences to gnaw on, the risk of you hating me makes me stronger somehow. Plus these actors have come a long ways and the key to this show hitting the next level is put it in front of an audience posthaste.

I'll make this offer: first TEN people reading who come during the first two nights, I'll pay you 2 bucks when i get paid next week (i.e., comment here and I'll give a $2 rebate if u come on thu 5/5 or fri 5/6; that's a 16.67% discount!). The artistic director doesn't know about this offer, I'm just deciding I can spare $20 for a good cause. You were planning to go anyway, to be nice n' shit. Why not go early? Spread some word of mouth, and then go get drunk in the acadia bar (24 beers on tap!) Live theater is a precious commodity.

Harry & Sam Dialogues. Acadia Cafe. 5/5-7, 13-14, 20-21. 730 $12.
