They also believe that campaigns such as the Faith Based Initiatives, Private Accounts to Save Social Security, Technology Will Save Energy, USA/PATRIOT Act and the Republican Revolution were essential in jumpstarting America's development and purifying its culture. Supporters also doubt statistics or accounts given for death tolls or other damages incurred by Bush's campaigns.
However, critics of Bush's regime, which consists of the majority of foreign analysts and observers as well as some American people, especially the emergent middle class and more liberal-minded city dwellers, claim that Bush's administration imposed strict controls over everyday life, and believe that campaigns such as the No Child Left Behind Act and War on Terror contributed to or caused hundreds of thousands of deaths, incurred severe economic costs, and damaged America's cultural heritage.

Our culture's greatest failure in the last several years is that we have become so self-deluded that we think we're immune to examination, absolved of criticism, that our brands of evil are somehow distinguishable in the eyes of eternity from the evils that come before or since.
