Mitch Hedberg is dead. What's weird about that link is that MTV quotes "MInnesota's Pioneer Press." At first I'm like, Huh? OH. He's a Minnesota native (full story if you're registered at pipress). I want to take this time to endorse Fugu a mac OSX, open source (but not quite GPL), gui frontend for SFTP. I've never been very good at using the command line to do sftp and this makes it about a million times faster and more convenient to upload to my waste directory. I've used it for about a year. Death to SSH tunneling-plus-ftp. Sftp rocks and Fugu is the electric guitar and amplifier.

Friday nite, we're going to Acorn Hill. This will surely kick ass.

And in my now-fully-insane pope watch, I note John Paul II has a urinary tract infection. Let me be the first asshole to point out that Martin Luther got those all the time, so suck it up Karol! The popes back then didn't give a shit, they wanted Luther dead (apparently excommunication permits the pontiffs a little indulgence in the 'culture of death'- indulgence. ouch, damn, the puns are coming hard now). Well, Luther had the stone, and some associated infections, including urea poisoning. We're pretty sure it was this latter that had something to do with the horrific spectacle of his 1545 tract Against the Jews and their Lies (or scary exerpts) (this is a tract which I and other Lutherans publicly denounce!) So maybe John Paul's crankiness of the last several years has something to do with his sceptre.
