Today I am leaving work early (I'm planning no later than 2:00 pm). After picking up my kid, we'll be going to the 16.6 mile marker of the Breast Cancer 3-Day walk, to cheer on [livejournal.com profile] mrs_lovett. If you know anyone else in the walk, or know somebody it affects, come on along.

There are "cheering stations" around the route and I'll be gathering some folks over the weekend, and of course for closing ceremonies on Sunday. If you are interested in participating, please comment, email me directly, or call my cell phone.

Today's 16.6 mile marker cheering station is
1 block South of 28th Avenue Light Rail Stop (and PolarFab)
2800 East Old Shakopee Rd.
Bloomington, MN 55425

Other spectator info is online at http://www.the3day.org/site/pp.asp?c=ciKTLcPRLvF&b=1993681

Opening ceremonies was actually pretty awesome. A LOT of motivational/inspirational stuff that, in the context, didn't feel very cheesy at all. Bright, powerful music, lots of clapping, some tears. Man, there's so many people. I mean, you hold the number "thousands" in your head, but watching them take like 45 minutes to walk by there at the start, and knowing each one raised at least $2,200. It's massive. It's a good way to start your day, it's like, ok, now, millions of dollars have just walked past me, ten thousand stories. They just kept coming, so many people!
