Amy's Army

I am posting this from an email by
mrs_lovett, who is my most beloved bride, of course.
I have committed myself to a huge project and it's going to take a lot of work for me to hold up my end of the deal!
Probably I don't need to explain a lot about what The 3 Day is. We are all familiar with these events to raise money for cancer research. I've heard about them for so long, but it wasn't until I heard another story that I realized that this walk was something I should be a part of.
I've joined a group of walkers called Amy's Army and we are walking in honor of a very special woman. Amy may not be one of my closest friends, but her story of discovering breast cancer when she was 11 weeks pregnant really affected me. I'm proud to know her and I think it's really important to support her in this way. When our mutual friend told me they were forming a team it was a revelation. This is something I must do. It will be good for me and I will be standing up for something I believe in.
It's hard asking my friends for money, but this cause and this event is very important to me. I really understand those public radio fund drives now when they say "anyone at any level." I'm nervous about raising the $2200 (which is the minimum for everyone participating in the walk) but I am taking the risk! The net proceeds benefit the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation and the National Philanthropic Trust Breast Cancer Fund.
Donating is very easy. All you need to do is click the link below to go to my personal fundraising webpage and donate online. Thank you for your support. I've already found such wonderful encouragement from everyone I've told about this.
Time to get to work!

spacebug said it best- "okay, no more cancer in my milieu, please!" of course, cancer wasn't listening. Cancer never listens. This is why we must eradicate it.
