Okay so Elena the Ukranian Chernobyl Biker failed me. But Mary Mycio does not!! Mary wrote Wormwood Forest: A Natural History of Chernobyl. Cool cool cool cool cool. Great pictures, solid information, beautiful evocative writing (and she makes mention of Elena the Fraud briefly and kindly). The whole book inspires me to this question: if you drank Chernobyl absinthe, would you get radioactive hallucinogenic super powers? Awww yeah. Flight. Sparkle blasts from your hands. Eyes of flame.
