Pray for Tim Johnson. The senior senator from South Dakota had a brain hemorrhage (cnn says congenital arteriovenous malformation) yesterday. This morning they're reporting that "the surgery, in which doctors stopped the bleeding and untangled abnormally large blood vessels in Johnson's brain, was successful. "The senator is recovering without complication," Adm. John Eisold said. "It is premature to determine whether further surgery will be required or to assess any long-term prognosis."
The senate is split 51-49. My home state has that law where the governor gets to pick replacements. The last time South Dakota elected a Democratic governor was before I was born.
