ghost dance with me

hm. just tossing around some loose neuron firings tonight... let's see ... still going nuts with the weird visions. I'm sorry I don't know what's happening. It's not delusions. I mean, I don't think I'm really going to predict the future, I just have been feeling weird bursts of intuition, senses that "such and such could really happen, etc." like a sense that one thing or another is at a weird tipping point. Like, you know how you play trivial pursuit and you get a foggy kind of insight into the correct answer but then you decide to take your second-choice answer and then you're wrong? Well it's kind of like lately I've been unafraid to voice that "first insight" out loud the minute it flashes through. Some times it's just funny or stupid or pie-in-the-sky (Apple, they're going to do it! Something big! HP!!) Sometimes it's just a passing event that has an obvious 50-50 outcome-- when I was in Vegas, I SHOULD have followed my instinct that New England wouldn't cover the spread and put money on Philly. I didn't, and my friend lost $20 (he asked me to bet on NE for him, and I almost said forget it and went with the Eagles.) So, yeah. I'm not crazy. Please believe me. (pleading for a small group of people on the internets to believe that you're not crazy is SOOOO crazy!)
hm. Yesterday's big blurt out was: China is gearing up to do something horrible to Japan, the apology thing is related, so is alliance with India. Hm. The Tom Delay thing is going to backfire if people (Democrats) don't focus on more important things. John Bolton's nomination to the UN will lose steam. Bush's domestic flailing and failing in these early months may provoke him to push the Syria/Iran things further forward.
Paiute prophet Wovoka, born in late 1850s (pictured at right). This is the man who prophesied about the Ghost Dance which predicted the white man would disappear. Wovoka's life from PBS' THE WEST.
Oil industry founded, 1859
Wovoka dies, 1932.
oil discovered in Bahrain, 1932 money quote: "it was the initial discovery of oil on the Arab side of the Gulf and second, it more or less coincided with the collapse of the world pearl market"
how will we get to space without technological industry? hm. I flash momentarily on Gibson & Sterling's Red Star, Winter Orbit...
stripped to our white skins, will we sheath our imperial power and burn skyward?
o night pouring from the earth
o sweet black ink from deep within, rewrite our history
O lost moon! O pearls of heaven! How I pine for you!
