where I been

wow, hi livejournal. holed up for a while now, working on school, work, and home. this weekend we started the kitchen install. we've been without a kitchen sink for four days now. We've totally got the wall cabinets up, the fridge surround is up. Still feeling ambivalent about the over-stove deal and wondering if we should just go down to ikea and buy the frickin microwave+enclosure already but that's in my weaker moments (I get weak whenever I look at the cuts and scrapes on my hands). We are going to hve so much f'ing space in the new kitchen, I don't even care that I f'd up the measurements on one side and had to run down to exchange a 24" wide cabinet for a 15" one. The pullout pantry alone is a stone cold triumph but once those counters are in place I might just burst into song. Promoted myself to plumber this weekend, too. maybe a new overhead light is a higher priority than the nukewave box...I dislike that ceiling fan today. ugh, the wiring though. perhaps the high table is the highest next-priority item. hm. OH man, by noon tomorrow I predict we will have a working dishwasher for once in our miserable lives (thanks, [livejournal.com profile] lio!) and once the doors are on? with their sweet little silver handles? gatdamn that's going to be sweet. yes, tomorrow's the day --I'll take another day off, take advantage of the kid being at school, get some shit done (as if I haven't already).
Martin Luther King is the most important public theologian of the last 100 years. Discuss. Time is a myth. Discuss.
Wild dreams lately. Some were naughty (let's just say that somewhere between Maxfield Parrish and Harvey Dunn there's a lot of potential for crazy dreaming), some kitchen counter related (not naughty), some with spiders. I think Inktomi might live near our house. or is visiting. Gotta learn how to paint or buy me some art.

Lots of nose raisins this morning. our walls are dusty.
